School History
In 1996, a group of massage instructors met to consider the idea: “What would I want in a massage school if I were a student?” We came up with the list of unique traits and philosophies outlined in the previous page — a school that is open and friendly; personalized education with a limited class size; mentorships with seasoned professionals; a diverse and unique curriculum with thorough spa training; and the opportunity to practice in a professional massage clinic and day spa to refine their skills.
In 1997, we created this unique experiential program and in 1998, we celebrated our first graduating class. Since then we have offered morning and evening programs. We enhanced our curriculum over the years by adding new bodywork, health science and ethics classes. We received accreditation in 2001 and began offering federal student loans/grants in 2002. In 2007, we opened a non-main branch campus in Cedar City, which closed in the fall of 2020 due to the economic effects of the coronavirus. In 2010, we moved our SLC campus to the NE corner of 400 South and 500 East. In 2018 we altered our programs to include more holistic healths. In 2019 we added our Orem campus in central Utah. In 2024 we fine-tuned our massage therapy program to a 600 hour residential, on-campus format.
