School History

In 1996 a group of massage instructors from other area schools met with the idea of "what I would want in a massage school if I were a student." We came up with a list of unique traits & philosophies - 1) a school that is open & friendly; 2) better, more personalized education with only 8-14 students in a program; 3) mentorships with seasoned professionals; 4) the most thorough spa education/ training in the western United States; 5) the most diverse & unique curriculum in Utah; and 6) live on-the-job-training in a real massage clinic & day spa.

In 1997, we created this unique educational/experiential offering. Our 1st graduating class was in 1998. We began with a morning only program in 1997 to mornings and expanded evenings, and weekends in 1998. We enhanced our curriculum from a 630-hour to a 720-hour program, adding 5 new bodywork and 5 additional health science & ethics classes between 1998 and 2000. We received accreditation, began offering quarter credit courses in 2001, and finally offered federal student loans/grants beginning in 2002. In 2004 and again in 2009 our SLC facility was rennovated from 2200 to 4200 square feet. And, in 2007 we opened the doors to our 2800 sq. ft. non-main branch campus in Cedar City, which is accredited through ABHS.

At the end of 2010 we relocated our main Salt Lake City Campus to a beautiful 7100 sq ft facility on the 400 South consumer corridor along the University Trax line and increased our massage program to 900 hours. In March 2016 we added our 1600-hour Holistic Health Practitioner Program.
